I have heard great things about this eyelash primer. I have purchased several primers, and quit using them for some unknown reason. Since letting all of my eyelash extensions fall out, or me accidentally tearing them out, my eyelashes have been very sad looking lately. They have all literally grown back in from the follicle up. My husband noticed after I tore out the last few extensions a couple of weeks ago, that my eyelashes are tiny little nubs. I was pretty self-conscious about it, so I stuck some falsies on for a few days, but since I am also allergic to that glue as well, I decided to give my eyes a rest, and try my luck on a primer to help with the volume and a tiny bit with the length. Since I am at a counter that shares space with Dior, I decided to purchase the Diorshow Maximizer Primer. I was really excited to find out that this primer also has a lash plumping (growing) serum in it. I like that it is a 2-in-1 formula. The brush is the synthetic rubbery lash-separating brush that is also in the Diorshow Iconic mascara. The brush is great for separating the lashes while priming them, so when you put your mascara on, they are already separated, and not clumped. The formula goes on the lashes very smooth and even. I could probably apply it to my bottom lashes, but I usually only put it on the top, since that is where I need more length and volume. I don't apply a very heavy coat, or your lashes will look clumped when you apply mascara, as with any primer. The formula is a gel-like consistency. Not too wet either. I like to wait a minute or two before putting on my mascara so I can let it dry a little bit. The formula seems to add a little bit of length and volume. I can't expect a primer to do miracles, but I am happy with the definitely noticeable difference it makes. I have been using the primer for about a week, and have noticed a slight growth in the length of my lashes. It's hard to tell at this point, but eyelash growth serum takes a month or two to notice a difference. The formula also contains a lash conditioner to keep lashes soft and supple. I used to use the MAC Prep+Prime, but the formula was like glue, and the brush bristles went flat quickly because the glue formula weighed it down. The formula also clumped when I applied it. I love love love that the Diorshow has a great brush that won't smash down from formula, has a really smooth and even application, contains lash conditioner, and best of all; it has the benefit of eyelash plumping serum in it! The reviews are really great on it as well. It is the holy grail of face wash for me right now! The perks of working for cosmetic and skincare lines is that you get a lot of sample sized items to be able to try product so that you can let the customer know how it worked for you. I am not going to be able to post everyday anymore. I will post throughout the week when I have a chance. I am currently working my full-time position at Shiseido Nordstrom, and my part-time at Pottery Barn. This week is a 60-hour workweek, so postings will be random. I gotta be honest, and let you know that I had never tried anything Shiseido before I started working for the brand. I let the interviewer know that, and she said it was refreshing to be so honest about it. Me, along with the rest of Americans only believed that Shiseido was a brand only for Asians. I am finding out that it is not at all! Asians love it because of the super skincare benefits, and Shiseido is a leader in skincare. Their makeup is AMAZING too!!! Anyways.... back to the face wash, and why it is so great! (I wouldn't say something is great just because it is the brand I work for, unless it is really great!). I took the fairly large sample size home to test it. The formula says it's a foam, probably because it works up quite the lather! It comes in a nice squeeze tube, and the formula is a thick cream with exfoliating/moisture beads in it. Shiseido has a perfume called Zen, and the face wash smells exactly like the perfume, but doesn't irritate my skin. I have really sensitive skin, and my skin reacts to a lot of things. It works great for my skin. A little tiny bit goes a long way, and when I spread it all over my face, the formula seems to get thicker and has a really rich lather to it. The beads in it are exfoliating at first, and then disintegrate into the formula. It takes the eye-makeup off really great too. It seems like it would take a lot to rinse off, since it is such a rich lather, but rinses off so easily! After it's rinsed off, your face literally is squeaky clean, because it squeaks after you wash it. It feels so clean!!! I took one of my Pond's face wipes and wiped my face after. Even with my previous face wash, I still had makeup residue on the wipe after I had washed my face, but with the Shiseido face wash, there was literally nothing on the wipe! It won the 2012 Nordstrom Beauty Award. The facewash, and other members of the Shiseido Benefiance line contains Mukurossi Extract, an ingredient that inhibits the wrinkle-triggering enzyme, and helps with your current wrinkles. It seems to work for my acne as well. I have battled with acne around my mouth and chin for a long time now. I always have a zit or two there, and it literally started healing the first time I washed my face with this face wash. My co-workers asked me why my face looked different, like brighter, the next day, and I am going to contribute that to washing my face with a really great face wash. I have used the face wash about 4 or 5 times now, and I don't have one zit on my chin (Just lots of acne scars). I am IN LOVE with this product, and I am going to buy it when my sample runs out. So cute! I purchased these eyeshadow pots a few months ago, and have used them several times. The color array is nice. I purchased the 45 Bold Gold and the 30 Pomegranate Punk The formula is a cream eyeshadow, rather than a powder. They are supposed to be 24 hour, and they seem to last just about that and the color is nice on. The pigment in these are pretty rich. You can build the color up to what you want.
I love the packaging! They are so pretty and look high-end. They are in a little glass pot with a twist top lid. I don't use a brush to apply the color, I use my finger, because it warms it up and spreading it with my finger is the best way to go about using it. Now.... the downsides....... The formula is REALLY DRY. When I first opened these up, the formula was spreadable enough, but as time has gone on (only a couple months) they have seemed to get drier and drier. I have to press down into it pretty hard to get to a softer portion of it to get enough on my finger to use. That is what you get with some cheap products. There are some products that are definitely worth paying the little extra cash for. I have played around with Shiseido's and Lancome's cream eyeshadows, and they are truly amazing and stay really soft and supple to work with. The texture is AMAZING and the colors are even more amazing! Lancome has some of the most incredible colors I have seen in cream eyeshadows, and Shiseido has the best pigments with slight shimmer. The Maybelline cream eyeshadows are not really blendable, so if you make a mistake, you almost have to wipe it off and start again. All-in-all, the Maybelline cream shadows are decent. I don't think I will be purchasing them again. I will pay the extra to purchase one from Shiseido or Lancome next time. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Cream Eyeshadow $5.99. I am always hearing how fantastic this eyeliner was, but it intimidated me because of the uncertainty of using a tiny little brush to apply rather than a pencil. I let it sit for a very long time in the bottom of my makeup case, and it never got used until recently. I believe the little brush is sold separately. I purchased a Bobbi set with a lot of items like eyeshadow palettes, eyeliner, lip and cheek stain, lip color palettes, etc...... The gel comes in a little glass jar. I really like the packaging. It's very sleek. It has a twist top lid to reveal the gel inside. As you can see in the picture, I have used it several times so that I could get a really good opinion on it. The formula is not too wet, or dry. It is the perfect spreading consistency. The color I have is a true jet black. It actually comes in many different colors. I like to use it with a more dramatic eye because it has a sharper look that can also be smudged up a little bit if you want. I never smudge it, because it would prove to be too messy, and since this is long-wear, if you mess up you will have to use some eye makeup remover to remove it and start over again. They are not lying about it being "long-lasting". I apply it with the Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush #7497. I really like how small this brush is and it applies it just great until the end gets packed with gel, and it sticks and clumps. I would recommend washing this little brush every few times you use it so that the gel does not make a conglomerate mess out of the end.. I barely stick the end of the brush into the gel. I don't move the brush side to side, I literally just stick it in and out, and there is plenty of formula on the brush. I always start in the middle of my eyelid, and go to the inner corner of my eye. I don't want too much in the inner corner, and if I mess up in the middle, I can just make the liner bigger. I start in the middle as well to go to the outer corner of my eye, and make a wing. This stuff gives drama to your eye, and the wing is dramatic as well. I do NOT recommend using this on your waterline. I decided to try it one day, and the gel just ends up clumping together after a few hours, and traveling into the inner corner of your eye. When you try to wipe the little gel clump, it just smears, and this stuff is hard to get off! I would only recommend it for the eyelid. All-in-all this is a really great product and I would recommend it to anyone! This is my current hair routine after I have showered for protected, volumized, healthy and shiny hair
I will gently comb my hair with a large tooth hair pick. The pick does not break my fragile wet hair like a brush does. I spray my wet hair all over with the Ovation Thermal Protection Styling Spray, because it coats and moisturizes my hair, so that the blowdryer and straightener/curling iron do not damage my hair as much, because the formula coats and protects my strands. Then I shake up my Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam really well and pull a section of hair to the side to form "parts" and spray a line right on my scalp and fold the hair over to create another "part". I do this for half my scalp on the sides and back (About 4 lines per side, and 3 in the back). This formula is really volumizing and shows a lot of oomph after blowdrying. After that, I will spray the One 'N' Only Argan Oil into my hand (about 3 full sprays) and work it through my hair starting at the ends. A little goes a long way, and if you spray it directly on your hair, it will be too much. If you put too much on, your hair will be REALLY greasy. The shine from this formula is instant and makes hair so soft and smooth! After all of that, I will blowdry my hair with my hair flipped over, so I am staring straight at my feet. When my hair is almost dry, I use a large round brush to stick under sections of my hair at the scalp to volumize my hair. It sounds like a lot of steps, but in reality, is very quick.
