Want the Healthiest Hair You Will Ever Have?! 5 Products That Will Rock Your World (and your hair!)5/29/2015 We all want that perfect head of hair, right? So many things day-to-day damage our hair, but we still don't take care of it the way that we should. A quote that a hair professional told me one time that has stuck when I told her I didn't have dry hair is "Everyone has dry hair in one way or another and everyone can use hydration even if you don't think you do." I never thought I had anything more than oily or normal hair and was scared of hydration. Oh how wrong I was. Our hair is our crowning glory. Without it, we would feel lost. A beautiful head of hair makes us feel....... well, beautiful. We always hear comments from others like "She has the most beautiful eyes, smile, skin, body," and you guessed it, "hair". So why not take care of it. Whether it's the sun, chlorine, bleach, heat damage and numerous other ways to destroy our hair, these 5 products will help to change all of that. Definitely worth the investment ($188 for all 5). My Hair Horror Story: My hair is naturally platinum blonde and I like to have it lightly highlighted at times to help keep the brightness of it. I have the most fabulous girl that does my hair (she is naturally blonde as well and knows how it can be). She had a baby and cut down her hours dramatically, so it is hard to have our schedules line up, so I decided to give someone else a try that had worked at a very high-end prestige salon previously. I wanted the balayage done and I am not sure what technique or strength of lightener was used, but right after that my hair felt like straw and was falling out in large chunks Everytime I would run my hands through my hair, or wash it it kept coming out more and more and breaking off. The color almost looked darker than what I started with. Ugh! I am still dealing with some hair loss, but not nearly what it was. The worst part is that it was all breaking near the top so my hair was getting so thin! I ended up having to cut off about 5 inches since it was getting so thin at the ends. I was literally in a panic everyday. My hair is my unique feature since it is so naturally blonde. I didn't care how much I had to invest, I just needed to make my hair healthy! I have found that these 5 products quickly are bringing my hair back to normal after using numerous other things that I feel didn't work. This was the perfect concoction for me to grow my hair back healthier than ever! I stick multiple items in my hair after I have washed it or even inbetween. You can layer these products on. Here are all 5 and ways to use them: Phyto Paris® Secret De NuitThis is one of my most important products. Like putting a moisturizer on the face is the most important piece of skincare, Phyto's Secret De Nuit is the moisturizer for the hair. Phyto uses a lot of natural ingredients to help treat and nourish hair. Paraben and silicone free. Not tested on animals. This product will keep your hair moisturized, because our hair tends to dry out at the ends in between washings. This can only be applied at night, because there are ingredients in it that will deactivate once they hit sunlight. This will help with hydration and prevent breakage at the ends of the hair. How To Use: Use 3+ times a week Brush through the hair. Squirt an amount in the palm of your hand about the size of a quarter and work through the ends and lengths of dry or towel-dried hair at night. Comb through. Repeat a few times as needed. Avoid the scalp. You can style your hair as usual in the morning (even applying it on dry hair). Phyto Paris®Secret De Nuit 2.5 oz. $38 + Free Shipping Phytokeratine® Repairing Thermal Protectant SprayMade in France, this spray is very important for all of those heat tool users. Our hair needs a little shield of protection against our blowdryers, straighteners, curling irons, etc..... We could all use a little repairing at the same time. Paraben free, silicone free and not tested on animals. Keratine helps repair the shaft of the hair, while the heat-activated ingredients work hard as you heat style. Most people don't realize that you might need to do this a few times while heat styling. Right before blow-drying, and spray again right before the flat-iron or curling iron. I like to spray this last (right before heat styling) to help seal in everything else I have put on it. How to use: Use daily Spray on clean dry or damp hair and comb through. Hold spray several inches away from hair and spray evenly root to tip. Don't forget to repeat before using any new heat process. Phytokeratine® Repairing Thermal Protectant Spray 5 oz. $32 + Free Shipping Toni&Guy® Prep Leave In ConditionerOh my, anything made in Italy is a dream! I actually received mine in my Glossybox. I have a subscription to get deluxe samples and products I have never tried. I received a full size bottle of this goodness. This is also one of the most important steps of your haircare regimen. I put this in before I comb through my damp hair because it helps relax tangles so I can be more gentle combing it. My hair is so soft and easy to comb. Tames any frizz that I may have after I have styled my hair and gives a luxurious hydration. There is only one downside to this product for any of you that are anti-parabens. It has plenty of them. I try to avoid them as much as possible, but this is one of the best leave-in conditioners I have ever used. How to use: Stick a quarter-sized amount in the palm of the hand and spread evenly through the entirety of towel-dried hair. Comb through. Toni&Guy® Leave-In Conditioner Manageability & Frizz Control 3.3 oz $16.99 Phyto Paris® Leave-In Lightweight Hydrating OilThis is another really important product for hair hydration and nourishment. Once again, Phyto wins on the natural ingredients category. You can click on the link of any product to read ingredient lists. Paraben and silicone free and not tested on animals. I use this in conjuction with my Secret De Nuit. I will spray the lengths of my dry hair right before bed after applying my "hair cream". I also spray it on after I have towel-dried clean hair layering with all of the other products. It is a lightweight oil that does not weigh down the hair and make it look greasy. It also helps hair to be frizz free and very manageable. I also get extremely shiny hair with this lightweight oil. How to use: To be used on dry or towel-dry hair on lengths and ends. Comb through Phyto Paris® Huile Soyeyuse Lightweight Hydrating Oil $40 + Free Shipping Kerastase® Initialiste Advanced Scalp and Hair ConcentrateWe focus mainly on the hair, but what about the scalp? It needs love too because that is where it all starts and where our hair is born. It either comes out healthy or not. This is a concentrate that helps the root of the hair be as strong and healthy as ever. I have found that my hair grows so fast and healthy when I use this. I heard about this from a friend that it was recommended to at her salon. I looked into it, and bought it. I was desperate to have my hair grow back fast since it was all falling out. WOW I have definitely seen results in such a short time! Made with a bunch of botanicals and antioxidants such as green tea extract. It helps to strengthen the base of the hair so it will continue to be strong once it grows longer. I also feel a texture difference in my hair. I will run a little through the lengths of my hair in addition to the scalp. How to use: Use on towel-dried clean scalp. Comes with a dropper top. Fill the pipette and work through quadrants of the hair. Start at top of hair and squeeze slowly while going to the base of the scalp. 2-3 pipettes for fine to normal hair 4-5 pipettes for thick or curly hair Massage through scalp and apply hair treatment products as usual. Hairspray..... A necessary evil right? I want my hair to feel as natural and healthy as it can, and sometimes hairspray likes to crash the party. My hair won't do all of those fun hairstyles I see on Pinterest without it.I know I say this in all of my product posts, but I am so serious when I say I "collect" beauty items. If you talk to my husband, he will call it hoarding, but I am definitely an organized hoarder if that's what you want to call it. I keep it all neat in a cabinet, and when I have found my favorite, I give it all away except for the one or two that I love. Hairspray is no exception in my arsenal of beauty products. I probably owned about 10 bottles at all times at one point. I have probably tried out about 50+ different hairsprays in my lifetime and have found favorites and my not-so-favorites. I would always go back to Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray every time but at a price point of $17.95 and up it gets a bit pricey and I felt like I was getting punched in the gut by 3 grown men every time I purchased it. Nothing was ever as good, and I would crawl back every time until I found my new favorite that works the exact same at only $6, which is a third of the cost of Big Sexy Hair.Schwarzkopf got2b 2 Sexy Voluptuous Volume Hairspray $5.97 at Walmart I use to use their Glued Blasting Freeze Spray in the yellow can: Although it was one of my favorites for a few years, the spray nozzle would always get jammed from the stickiness of the hairspray and it makes your hair crunchy. The yellow can definitely holds extreme hairstyles, such as the one I use to have in High School where it was the bigger, the better.
I know that most of us wish for that voluminous blowout look for our hair. There is a product that will give amazing volume without the stickiness and weighing down the hair. It’s the Phyto Paris Phytovolume Actif Spray. If you can’t tell by now, I am kind of a collector of beauty products. I like to find the best of each product and won’t stop buying them until I can find something that works great! Once I find that holy grail product, I tend to just give away the other items that I collected. At one time, I owned about 20 hair volume products, but none of them live up to their claims like Phyto does. What I like about Phyto is that they are a very natural product company using things like Nasturtium extract, silk derivative, hydrolyzed wheat amino acids. The Phytovolume says that it “lifts hair at the roots while amplifying the diameter of each strand to visibly impart body.” I would say that is exactly what it does.On towel-dried hair, I will lift up sections of hair and spray one spray several inches away at the base of the root all over my head. If I am wanting all over hair volume, I will continue to spray all of my hair like a wild person.I can sleep with it wet with Phyto in it and will wake up with a huge lion’s mane the next morning, but I feel that it looks the best when blow-dried. I flip my head over when I blow-dry my hair so my hair dries away from the base for more volume. I also like to use a big round brush to lift the roots for massive volume. Most formulas I have used in the past are sticky and my hair gets really greasy very quickly. The Phytovolume Actif is the perfect weightless formula that I think I will continue to use for a very long time.Phyto has amazing hair products that I am very passionate about, and was able to convert a bunch of my friends because it is amazing product!
***I am not endorsed, nor do I get paid by Phyto or affiliates. I purchased this product on my own. The opinions expressed are my individual opinions*** This is my current hair routine after I have showered for protected, volumized, healthy and shiny hair
I will gently comb my hair with a large tooth hair pick. The pick does not break my fragile wet hair like a brush does. I spray my wet hair all over with the Ovation Thermal Protection Styling Spray, because it coats and moisturizes my hair, so that the blowdryer and straightener/curling iron do not damage my hair as much, because the formula coats and protects my strands. Then I shake up my Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam really well and pull a section of hair to the side to form "parts" and spray a line right on my scalp and fold the hair over to create another "part". I do this for half my scalp on the sides and back (About 4 lines per side, and 3 in the back). This formula is really volumizing and shows a lot of oomph after blowdrying. After that, I will spray the One 'N' Only Argan Oil into my hand (about 3 full sprays) and work it through my hair starting at the ends. A little goes a long way, and if you spray it directly on your hair, it will be too much. If you put too much on, your hair will be REALLY greasy. The shine from this formula is instant and makes hair so soft and smooth! After all of that, I will blowdry my hair with my hair flipped over, so I am staring straight at my feet. When my hair is almost dry, I use a large round brush to stick under sections of my hair at the scalp to volumize my hair. It sounds like a lot of steps, but in reality, is very quick. This is my own personal opinion on this purchased item and how I apply it*** I have used many hair tools over the years, and I have definitely found my favorites in the hair straightener and blowdryer categories. As for the straightener........ The Sedu Revolution Straightener I have owned the Chi straightener, and liked it. It was the best straightener I had used. I had owned several kinds that were less expensive, and they did not work well and created "hot spots" on my hair. My Chi decided to quit working one day, so I was in the market for a straightener. I had heard really good things about Sedu, but they are more expensive than Chi, and I didn't know if I was willing to pull out the dough for a more expensive straightener. I decided to research straighteners for about 2 hours one night; read all the reviews, weighed out the benefits, and the Sedu seemed to be a favorite of others and sounded like a really well-built tool. I will tell you that I don't regret shelling out the cash for this straightener! I have owned it for 3 years (My Chi died after 2 years) and it just keeps doing what it needs to do. I love the Sedu, because the heat spreads evenly through the plates, and does not give those "hot spots" that destroy your hair. My hair is super shiny after I use it, and the best part about it that my Chi did not have, was an adjustable temperature dial! I don't want my flat iron at 450° on my hair! I like to use the minimum amount of heat possible to straighten, or curl my hair (which I keep mine at about 280°-300°). It goes all the way down to 170°. I also used to get my hair caught in the folding part of the Chi and it would rip my hair out. I have never had that happen with my Sedu! There is a light that indicates when the iron is hot enough. It changes from orange to green. It is a really quick process to heat up. I have also dropped it many times and it has not broken yet. In my opinion, this flat iron is the best quality I have ever used, and the least damaging with the nano tourmaline ionic plates. On folica.com (which is where I purchased mine) the flat iron received a 4.5 out of 5 in the reviews ratings with 1,000 reviews. That is a good product! You can read the reviews yourself if you would like. It gets rave reviews for sure. The flat iron is normally $200, but it's on sale and has free shipping right now for $159.99 HERE Moving on to my favorite blowdryer........ The Bed Head Tigi Ionic 1875W Blowdryer I have also owned many blowdryers and used many blowdryers from friends, my mom, etc.... over the years, and nothing has compared to this blowdryer. The reason it is so good, is because it literally dries my hair in half the time of other blowdryers I had used, and seemed less damaging. I have probably owned this blowdryer for just about 10 years, and it is still going super strong! It comes with your standard Hot/Warm and High/Low buttons. It also has a cold burst button in the front you can push with your thumb if it is getting too hot that will blow out cooler air. It also has a removeable piece in the back where the intake air flow is, and you can clean out the hair and gunk that gets trapped on the intake. Super easy! The blowdryer also has ionic technology that is less damaging for your hair. I love the texture of my hair right after I blowdry it with this blowdryer. If you are in the market for a new blowdryer, I suggest this one! It is about $28 at Target, or wherever Bed Head hair tools are sold. They will look different since this one is so old. They are pink and grey now. Just as sleek, with the same wattage and ionic technology. *** I am not affiliated in any way with other people mentioned or products
mentioned. This is my own personal opinion on this purchased item*** When I say I have literally owned about 50 different kinds of hairspray, I am telling the truth. I have owned just about every kind you can buy at the store whether really high-end (Pureology, Sebastian) and very low end (Suave, White Rain). No matter what kind I buy, I always keep coming back to these two. Nothing I have tried comes close to rivaling them in my opinion. I love these two kinds for very different reasons....... and it all depends on what kind of hairstyle you would like to achieve.

mentioned. This is my own personal opinion on this purchased item*** I am always searching for a hair tool to keep my hair curled and have the right "look" to the curl. I think I have met my match....... It's called the NuMe 4 Play Curling Iron Set. There are 4 interchangeable heads that you can attach to the handle. The size heads are: - 3/8" - 0.75" Tapered - 0.75" - 1" - 1.25" The heat goes up to 200° but trust me, that is plenty hot! I usually only put mine at 160-170°. The set also comes with a heat styling glove. It reminds me of a simple knit glove you can buy anywhere in the winter. As you can see in the photo, I have used it quite a bit. All of the lighter portions are parts of the glove that actually touched the wand. I would not use this set without it!!!! Before I even start, I will spray my hair with a heat thermal protectant spray and let it dry before I curl my hair. I start with the wand facing down, and wrap a large section of hair starting at the top away from my face and hold it for a few seconds. That is all you really need, or else you might risk burning your hair. It's actually pretty quick, and the curl stays in until I wash it next. See below for information on getting one of these sets for cheap! To purchase the NuMe 4 Play Curling Iron Set Click HERE $229.00 (It is currently out of stock, but it will be re-stocked soon again. It's a very popular item) (see line below) But not until you purchase a Groupon for $15 for $115.00 worth of NuMe product HERE OR You can purchase the exact same thing with a different name on it for much less! I found this out after I purchased mine. It's called the CORTEX 4 in 1. You can purchase them on eBay a lot cheaper. They are BRAND NEW! Click Here to purchase for $59.99 or Best Offer My sister owns the Cortex, and she loves it! It's the EXACT product as the NuMe *** I am not affiliated in any way with other people mentioned or products
mentioned. This is my own personal review on this purchased item*** I am super detail-oriented, and this review is going to be just that. Sorry in advanced. This review shows why I had low expectations, but actually was fairly surprised by the results. Ugghhh! I can't stand the commercials on the radio for this hair system. It always gets the phrase "for thicker, longer, stronger hair....." Well, hype aside, I was at a period in my hair's life when it started to thin out quite a bit (I grew up with thick hair) and it felt like my hair was not growing like it used to. I was desperate to try anything out. I purchased the 12 oz. paraben free set. I was amazed at how much it cost, but was used to paying a bit more for shampoo and conditioner, because I used to buy Pureology. The system came a few days after I ordered it. I don't know why I thought the bottles would be bigger, but I was almost sick about how much I had paid for small bottles ( 12 oz each. ). I decided to give it a go. First, you wash your hair with #1. There is an interesting odor to #1. It's definitely tolerable, just different. The formula seemed very high-quality and was very comparable to Pureology. Very thick and concentrated. A little goes a long way. #2 is the scalp treatment that is the claimed miracle worker. After rinsing the shampoo off, you are to put #2 all over your scalp and leave it on for about 3 minutes. There is no odor to #2. Like #1, a little goes a long way. After rinsing off #2, you then use the creme rinse (conditioner). #3 also is minus a scent. Very thick and concentrated just like the others. I can always tell when a conditioner is a good one by how my hair feels right after I rinse it. If it stays super soft, it was a good one. My hair was incredibly soft after rinsing off #3. I was impressed with the quality, as I said earlier, it was comparable to Pureology in the formula department. At first, it was just a nice shampoo, but after a bit of time had passed (about 4 months) I was starting to notice my pesky baby hairs were multiplying. I decided to commit to it for a year to see what happened. I did notice a little added thickness, but when slow changes happen, it's hard to see it. I only go into my hairdresser for a trim about twice a year (I know..... split end city!) but when I did, she told me my hair felt thicker and had grown immensely since I was in last. More than usual. I committed to it for another year. I stopped using it for awhile (money issues), and found that I was losing a lot of hair after awhile. I have read that on other reviews, and they view that as a negative thing, but your hair will go back to it's original hair-losing state when you stop using the product. Since you get used to your hair not falling out as much, it is a shock when it does. I wanted to test it again, and see if the hair-loss would slow down again after I started using it again, and it took a few months until it stopped falling out so much. I have used it for about 2 years now, and I am still constantly getting asked what I use to make my hair grow longer and look thicker (now I am starting to sound like the commercials) I make this product last 6 months. I mix shampoos. I use half ovation, half any other brand shampoo. I use just enough scalp treatment to barely cover my scalp, and I also mix the conditioner with any brand conditioner. I only have to buy it twice a year. You can use codes from radio stations (I used 971zht) in the code box to get 10% off. Rating: A- (minus for weird odor from #1) Would I recommend this product to a friend? For Sure! Price: $96.49 for the system (you can google a key code to get 10% off) You can purchase the system here *** I am not affiliated in any way with other people mentioned or products mentioned. This is my own personal review on this purchased item***
