I am always searching for a hair tool to keep my hair curled and have the right "look" to the curl. I think I have met my match....... It's called the NuMe 4 Play Curling Iron Set. There are 4 interchangeable heads that you can attach to the handle. The size heads are: - 3/8" - 0.75" Tapered - 0.75" - 1" - 1.25" The heat goes up to 200° but trust me, that is plenty hot! I usually only put mine at 160-170°. The set also comes with a heat styling glove. It reminds me of a simple knit glove you can buy anywhere in the winter. As you can see in the photo, I have used it quite a bit. All of the lighter portions are parts of the glove that actually touched the wand. I would not use this set without it!!!! Before I even start, I will spray my hair with a heat thermal protectant spray and let it dry before I curl my hair. I start with the wand facing down, and wrap a large section of hair starting at the top away from my face and hold it for a few seconds. That is all you really need, or else you might risk burning your hair. It's actually pretty quick, and the curl stays in until I wash it next. See below for information on getting one of these sets for cheap! To purchase the NuMe 4 Play Curling Iron Set Click HERE $229.00 (It is currently out of stock, but it will be re-stocked soon again. It's a very popular item) (see line below) But not until you purchase a Groupon for $15 for $115.00 worth of NuMe product HERE OR You can purchase the exact same thing with a different name on it for much less! I found this out after I purchased mine. It's called the CORTEX 4 in 1. You can purchase them on eBay a lot cheaper. They are BRAND NEW! I had always heard pretty good things about these two brushes in particular. I was skeptical to try them, because I don't like E.L.F. products for the most part. I am pretty picky with my brushes as well. I purchased these brushes at Target. You can get them anywhere where drugstore makeup can be purchased. Each one of these brushes are just $3.00 each. Amongst my MAC, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox brushes, you will find these brushes in my everyday makeup collection. The powder brush has a kabuki style flat head with very thick and soft bristles. This brush gets down-to-business with powder. It picks up a ton of powder, so you don't have to keep going over the same area on your face over-and-over again. I have heard others using this as a liquid foundation brush as well. The blush brush is actually my contouring bronzer brush because it has a tapered end to be able to fit right in my cheekbone perfectly. It also has a really soft head, just like the powder brush. The downside to these brushes is that the handles threaten to come off because they are not glued in well, and after time, they loosen, but what else would you expect from a $3.00 brush? I would recommend these brushes to anyone on a budget or not, because they are good quality synthetic brushes. It's rare when the skin around my fingers is NOT bleeding or peeling severely. I have chronically dry hands and skin around my fingers. Saliva actually dries them out even more, and it's a habit that has lasted a lifetime. I will chew or peel my cuticles when I am anxious, nervous, bored, watching movies, at school, etc......... A few weeks ago, I decided to see if I can stop this habit for good. I have used so many lotions and potions for cuticles over the years. The four products in the picture have helped the most to do different things. One of the products above is all you really need to do it all and is by far the best overall solution Nutra Nail® Nailsentials Cuticle & Nail Butter 0.06 oz The consistency of the formula looks just like a glue stick. You pop the lid off, and use it like a glue stick around your nail beds. I work it in a bit after I put it on, because it's thick and buttery. It does not moisture for very long, and my cuticles are back to dry quickly, but perfect for an on- the-go thing to store in your purse. ($5.99 Walmart) My Rating: B Attitude Line Mineral Cuticle Oil 1 oz. This little tube of oil has a stopper on the end so drops at-a-time come out. I will use one drop per finger, and work it in the cuticle. I got this from someone stopping me in the mall at one of those Dead Sea Spa stands. It is excellent for softening the cuticles, but once you wash your hands, you will have to reapply it. It also gets oil all over everything you touch, but that is the price you pay for softening severely dry cuticles. This is also good for a purse. Not a good long-term solution $9.99 You can purchase here on amazon My Rating: A- Tree Hut Naturals Shea Body Butter Coconut Lime 7 oz. This stuff is amazing!!!!! It is a large vat with a smooth, thick and creamy body butter inside that smells amazing! It is certified organic shea butter, natural coconut and lime extracts. It goes on the hands so smooth and stays on for quite some time. Even after a handwash or two, my hands still seem to stay moisturized. I will put it on my hands and work it in the cuticles, and they look and feel great afterwards. There is a slight greasy feel, but that is what keeps my hands moisturized. This has done the most to repair my cuticles and my hands at the same time. I put this on first thing in the morning after washing my hands, in the middle of the day and at night right before bed. There is a huge difference, and I am not biting and chewing my fingers as much, because there is not a whole lot to bite and chew. $13.44 for a pack of 3 7 oz. jars (a steal!) on amazon here. They are usually about that price for one! My Rating: A+ Burt's Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream 3.2 oz This butter comes in a durable and soft tube. The cream is extremely thick and you have to melt it with your fingers. It is a 100% natural product The first thing I noticed was the intense "earthy" smell. It smells like a mixture of a citronella candle, and laquer thinner. I actually get embarrassed putting this on in public because of the scent. The cream is a bit sticky and greasy, and stays that way for a bit. It does the trick for a short period of time, and then it's back to re-applying it. My cuticles dried out quickly after a short amount of time. It was an expensive tube that I will continue to use up, but will not be purchasing again. The best part about this was the tube (I don't know why, but I love it) and how thick it comes out of the tube, but neither one of those have anything to do with softening my cuticles. It may not work for me, but it might work for you. Here are reasons why you will fall in love with these eyeliner pencils!
I have used so many different eyeliners, and most are just "meh"...... I actually get excited to use these, especially for a dramatic eye, because I know it will last, and I don't have to worry about it melting off my somewhat greasy eyelids. Price: $12.00 for double ended (0.01 oz each side) - purchase here $19.00 for a single eye pencil (0.04 oz) - purchase here Rating: A+ Colors shown above are Abyss (Blue), Whiskey (Brown) and Zero (Black) In this picture, I am wearing the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Zero *** I am not affiliated in any way with other people mentioned or products mentioned. Eye makeup removers are an important part of makeup. We can put it on, but can you take it off? I know before I found my holy grail of makeup removers, I would wake up the next day looking like I had attempted to apply makeup in my sleep! I thought I had done a good job removing it the night before, but it appeared in the morning I hadn't. That is when I decided to get serious about finding a makeup remover that could remove even the most serious makeup (the waterproof and long-lasting stuff) I will review each product shown in the picture, and let you know which one turned out to be amazing at removal of EVERYTHING! Pond's Exfoliating Renewal Wet Cleansing TowlettesThese towelettes can be purchased at any grocery store for about $5 depending on where they are purchased. There are 30 towlettes per pack. The towelettes are the size of a washcloth, and have little nubbies on them (hence the exfoliating part.) They are wet when taken out (they tend to try out about halfway through a little bit, and you can just add a little water to moisten them before you remove your makeup) They are essentially odorless, and feel nice and cool on the skin. I use the non-nubby side to remove my eye makeup. I think it's too rough for the eyes with the nubs. No need to rinse your face after. The formula is supposed to help hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. No stinging to the eyes either. The formula in the cloth is incredibly gentle I use these on a nightly basis if I had worn light makeup, and it does the trick, but is not that great when long-lasting foundation, heavy makeup or a lot of mascara is worn. These are perfect for a refresher after working out though. Rating: B for makeup and face remover A for use after a workout Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes, for a casual face clean-up M.A.C. Gentle Off Eye and Lip Makeup RemoverThis remover is my HOLY GRAIL of eye makeup removers! It is a 3.4 fluid ounce bottle of goodness! The remover itself is clear. The bottle has a pink tone to it. It is half oil and half water formula. You can see that when the oil settles. All you do is shake it to mix it, and it creates a frothy bubbly liquid. This remover is gentle, and does not sting if it gets in your eye. The lid is a push and twist lid that can be difficult to get off sometimes. There is a small hole that allows liquid to come out in small amounts onto a cotton ball or swab. I usually use a cotton ball for the eyelid, and use a cotton swab to get the details (like the eyeliner). This product gets it all off your eye like a charm. I have never used it for lips, but I might just try it one day. This stuff lasts forever, and has virtually no scent. If you are deliberating on a good remover, this one is high recommended! Price: $20.00 You can purchase it here Rating: A Would I recommend this to a friend? Absolutely Almay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover LiquidI was trying to find an oil-free remover when I had my eyelash extensions put on. Oil in cosmetics, your fingers, or in removers can break down the glue in extensions. This bottle is 4 fluid ounces. The product says it's fragrance free, but there is a hint of alcohol scent to this formula. The formula is pretty thick for being water-based. It does not burn if it gets in the eyes, just the same as the other formulas. It's easy to get too much, since the opening hole is pretty large. It definitely took a lot more scrubbing to get my eye makeup off. It's decent for the price. I didn't notice much more oil on my eyelids with the MAC formula, and oil-based rather than water-based seems to work a lot better! This product is good for removal for someone with eyelash extensions because it is water-based. It is also good if you aren't willing to spend $20.00 for an eye makeup remover Price: $5.99 You can purchase it here Would I recommend this product to a friend? Probably Rating: B *** I am not affiliated in any way with other people mentioned or products mentioned. This is my own personal review on this purchased item***
I am super detail-oriented, and this review is going to be just that. Sorry in advanced. This review shows why I had low expectations, but actually was fairly surprised by the results. Ugghhh! I can't stand the commercials on the radio for this hair system. It always gets the phrase "for thicker, longer, stronger hair....." Well, hype aside, I was at a period in my hair's life when it started to thin out quite a bit (I grew up with thick hair) and it felt like my hair was not growing like it used to. I was desperate to try anything out. I purchased the 12 oz. paraben free set. I was amazed at how much it cost, but was used to paying a bit more for shampoo and conditioner, because I used to buy Pureology. The system came a few days after I ordered it. I don't know why I thought the bottles would be bigger, but I was almost sick about how much I had paid for small bottles ( 12 oz each. ). I decided to give it a go. First, you wash your hair with #1. There is an interesting odor to #1. It's definitely tolerable, just different. The formula seemed very high-quality and was very comparable to Pureology. Very thick and concentrated. A little goes a long way. #2 is the scalp treatment that is the claimed miracle worker. After rinsing the shampoo off, you are to put #2 all over your scalp and leave it on for about 3 minutes. There is no odor to #2. Like #1, a little goes a long way. After rinsing off #2, you then use the creme rinse (conditioner). #3 also is minus a scent. Very thick and concentrated just like the others. I can always tell when a conditioner is a good one by how my hair feels right after I rinse it. If it stays super soft, it was a good one. My hair was incredibly soft after rinsing off #3. I was impressed with the quality, as I said earlier, it was comparable to Pureology in the formula department. At first, it was just a nice shampoo, but after a bit of time had passed (about 4 months) I was starting to notice my pesky baby hairs were multiplying. I decided to commit to it for a year to see what happened. I did notice a little added thickness, but when slow changes happen, it's hard to see it. I only go into my hairdresser for a trim about twice a year (I know..... split end city!) but when I did, she told me my hair felt thicker and had grown immensely since I was in last. More than usual. I committed to it for another year. I stopped using it for awhile (money issues), and found that I was losing a lot of hair after awhile. I have read that on other reviews, and they view that as a negative thing, but your hair will go back to it's original hair-losing state when you stop using the product. Since you get used to your hair not falling out as much, it is a shock when it does. I wanted to test it again, and see if the hair-loss would slow down again after I started using it again, and it took a few months until it stopped falling out so much. I have used it for about 2 years now, and I am still constantly getting asked what I use to make my hair grow longer and look thicker (now I am starting to sound like the commercials) I make this product last 6 months. I mix shampoos. I use half ovation, half any other brand shampoo. I use just enough scalp treatment to barely cover my scalp, and I also mix the conditioner with any brand conditioner. I only have to buy it twice a year. You can use codes from radio stations (I used 971zht) in the code box to get 10% off. Rating: A- (minus for weird odor from #1) Would I recommend this product to a friend? For Sure! Price: $96.49 for the system (you can google a key code to get 10% off) You can purchase the system here *** I am not affiliated in any way with other people mentioned or products mentioned.
